BLANCA

Blanca loves orchids and flowers in general. She takes care of all plants at Casa El Edén. Her principal hobby is to paint and to do manual work.
Blanca likes people very much . She owned her own local business and worked as a host family. For about 15 years, the family welcomed students from all over the world at their home at the north part of Quito. Then in 2014, they opened Casa El Edén and Blanca take care of every detail of the house. For breakfast, she carefully chooses all fruits and products that you will serve the morning.

MARIO

Mario a doctor in psychology. He worked for several years a psychologist and as university professor. He loves everything related to educational subjects.
As principal hobby, Mario is an avid runner. He has run 18 marathons until now. The last one was in Paris in October 2021! If you like to run, ask Mario for a running tour and he will be very happy to show you the city while running (or walking). Don’t forget that Quito is located at 2.850 meters (9,000 ft) elevation.

Casa El Eden was the perfect place for our 2-night stay in Quito. Mario and Blanca were so welcoming and helpful during our entire stay and went above and beyond. The location is great for central Quito, you're in walking distance to everything you'll want to explore. Do note that this is a building in the middle of the city; the building is very well-insulated from noise when the windows are shut but if you open them you'll hear the people and cars. If you search something amazing, this is the right place. You will feel like home. Mario and his wife do great job to feel special. We had nice spacious room, breakfast was super nice and we got so many tips from Mario where to eat. He as well warn us about all scam going on in Quito centro. What a great place to stay if you are in Quito’s Old Town. The service was amazing. Mario and Daniel took care of everything from coordinating airport transportation, laundry service, and making excellent recommendations for the local area. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect way to start the day. There were lot of extras, such as a library filled with books in both Spanish and English. And we ended each night with a cold beer (provided) on the rooftop patio which had a spectacular view of the city. The service was simply unbeatable. Mario and Blanca welcome you like family. Our stay was so warm and comfortable. The hotel itself is beautifully done and the room was spotless and comfy. Breakfast was beyond generous and delicious. Communication was excellent- the team is so helpful with any questions, issues, or anything that arose. I felt like I was visiting a relative rather than staying in a hotel.  Verificada Sehr schönes und gepflegtes Haus im Kolonialstil in der historischen Altstadt
Wir waren mit unserer Wahl sehr zufrieden. Blanca und Mario sind sehr herzliche und fürsorgliche Gastgeber. Stets ist einer der beiden zur Stelle und steht mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Gern erinnern wir die netten Gespräche mit den beiden. Susie und Maria haben mit viel Liebe zum Detail unser Frühstück zubereitet, und Daniel hat uns sehr kurzfristig eine tolle Stadtführerin organisiert. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig und komfortabel. Es gab einen Haarföhn mit ausreichend Power (das hat man nicht überall), qualitativ hochwertige Handtücher, Waschlappen und angenehme Pflegeprodukte. Wäre uns kalt gewesen, hätten wir auch Ponchos im Schrank vorgefunden. Die Geschichte des Hauses ist sehr interessant. 2011 war das Haus noch baufällig. Es wurde sehr viel Geld und Arbeit in die Renovierung gesteckt. Das Ergebnis kann sich wirklich sehen lassen.

Casa El Eden will hold a special place in our hearts forever!! From the moment we entered the massive antique Spanish Colonial door to receive the warmest welcome by the most endearing, charming gentleman named Mario, we knew we had made the best hotel choice! Mario was ready early every morning to warmly greet us, and he was also the last to sleep each night after he made sure all his guests were safe inside. He and his team made every effort to make sure our stay was exceptional in every detail. From sending us an escort to walk with us back to the hotel late one evening from a restaurant, to providing directions to the best sites in the city, setting up tours and arranging drivers, filling our hydration backpacks with cold water each morning, he made every day a special memory for us. The hotel is a Spanish Colonial restored charming quaint homey place, with large rooms and bathrooms. We appreciated the special touches such as bath salts and candles by the cast iron tub, nice towels and sheets, and meticulously folded toilet paper roll, like origami. We couldn't wait to get to breakfast each morning, where Mario's wife Bianca would oversee the chef cooking for the small group of travelers from all over the world. We enjoyed meeting them and sharing adventure stories. We indulged in perfectly prepared eggs, exotic fruit salads, breads and pasties from local bakeries, and perfect coffee and teas to make certain we were well prepared for our daily adventures. More importantly and most meaningful was how Mario and Bianca engage their guests in conversation and happy to share their family life, and knowledge and history of Quito. They are very passionate about Quito and it was contagious! We were truly taken in by them, a piece of our hearts are with them at Casa El Eden. Gracias!

Casa El Eden is your home away from home. With just 6 rooms for guests, we were lucky to be able to stay with them for five days prior to our Galapagos cruise while we explored Quito and the surrounding Highlands. Mario & Blanca and their friendly team will make you feel as if you are part of their family. The beds & pillows are wonderfully comfortable, the rooms spacious and welcoming, and the morning breakfasts are delicious, with fresh fruit hand-selected daily by Blanca. (Be sure to have Mario scramble your eggs!) It is the perfect way to start your day. The Casa is within easy walking distance of all the classic sights in Old Town. But if you need transportation, rest assured Mario will take care that you have a reliable and trustworthy driver, whether it's an airport run, a private full-day tour, or just a quick taxi drop. You will be charmed by the restoration of the old mansion, furnishings and historical art as you relax at the end of your day with a cold cerveza or chilled wine from Mario's stash. The best place to stay in Quito! Mario and Blanca are great people, very kind and helpful. Very hospitable. We were staying four nights at this wonderful place. The rooms are very clean and authentic. Location on the best spot (old town). I will highly recommend this to everyone :)
